Welcome! Sacred Writes: Public Scholarship on Religion provides support, resources, and networks for scholars of religion committed to translating their research for a broader audience. Generously funded by the Henry Luce Foundation and The Carpenter Foundation and hosted by Northeastern University since 2018, our goal is to combat misinformation and prejudice, and ultimately to improve public religious literacy. Our two signature programs help bridge the gap between scholarly expertise and public need: 1) a three-month intensive training program teaching scholars of religion to communicate effectively with the public, and 2) a series of media partnerships pairing journalists with religion scholars. We invite scholars to apply for our current programs, and everyone to learn more here.
